New Student Application & Enrollment Steps
MCSCS is a tuition-free public charter school open to all New Jersey students, offering enrollment priority to students who reside in the City of Perth Amboy. Interested applicants should fill out the online application form.

Application
Applications must be submitted online at www.middlesexcharter.org by February 15 to be included in the lottery. Applications received after the deadline will be added to the waiting list in the order they are received for the 2026-2027 school year.
Lottery
MCSCS selects students to enroll through a random lottery. The lottery is held on February 25. It is open to the public, in person and via Livestream on YouTube.
Enrollment / Registration
Enrollment is granted to students through a random lottery. Lottery winners are notified to complete the registration process by the deadline set by the school, which is Monday, March 23, 2026, for the school year 2026-27. When parents are invited to complete the registration paperwork, the documents listed on this page must be submitted to the school by 3/23, 5 pm.
Waiting List
If no seat is available, the applications are added to the end of the waiting list in the order received. If any seat in any grade level becomes available, starting March 25 and within the school year, our admission team calls the waiting list in the order and invites applicants for registration.
Application Process
If you have a student currently attending MCSCS and are interested in enrolling your other child(ren), an online application must be submitted for each sibling in a timely manner. If you submit an application for a sibling of a student currently enrolled at MCSCS, preference may be granted to a limited extent based on available seats in each grade level. Parents should not assume automatic admission to the school through sibling preference. Further information about the process will be communicated to our parents before the admission lottery.
One application per student is allowed. If multiple applications are submitted on behalf of a student, the student will be given the least favorable space based on the lottery results. Therefore, please contact us at admission@middlesexcharter.org if you need to make a change in the application you submitted rather than submitting another application.
Following the submission of the online application, you will receive an email from us with a confirmation number. If you do not receive it within one day after the submission, please check your junk emails. If you have not received it at all, please contact us at admission@middlesexcharter.org to verify the proper submission of your application prior to February 15, 2026. Applications received after the deadline will be added to the waiting list in the order they are received.
Any false information provided on the application form may disqualify the application and result in dismissal of the student from the school.
Kindergarten Cut-off Dates:
Perth Amboy Residents: October 30th (Child must be five years old on or before October 30, 2026.)
