Application Process

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for your interest in Middlesex County STEM Charter School. Please fill out this application by March 1, 2024. Applications received after March 1st will be added to the waiting list in the order received. We will notify you and schedule an appointment for you to come in to submit the final paperwork if a seat is available for your child based on the lottery results.

Please note that we accept applications in grades kindergarten through 8 for the 2024-2025 school year. Grade 9 will be added upon approval starting the 2025-2026 school year.

A separate application must be submitted for each student if you apply for more than one child. Falsifications, misrepresentations, or omissions may disqualify your application. Only one application per student is allowed. If more than one application is submitted on behalf of a student, all applications will be disqualified. Therefore, please contact us at admission@middlesexcharter.org if you need to make a change to the application you submitted rather than submitting another application.

Should you submit an application for a sibling of a student currently enrolled at MCSCS, please note that Kindergarten preference will be given to incoming siblings. Other grades will be dependent upon the seats available. Parents should not assume automatic admission to the school through sibling preference. Further information about the process will be communicated to our parents before the admission lottery, which is currently scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Should you have any questions, please email us at admission@middlesexcharter.org

*Charter schools are free, open-enrollment public schools that are required by law to serve all students. Charter schools shall be open to all students on a space-available basis and shall not discriminate in their admission policies or practices on the basis of intellectual or athletic ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, special needs, proficiency in the English language, or any other basis that would be illegal if used by a school district.

Lottery Process

The lottery will be held on March 5, 2024, at the MCSCS cafeteria. It is open to the public, and all parents/students are welcome to watch the live streaming from MCSCS' YouTube Channel. All applications received by the deadline will be included in the lottery except siblings of current MCSCS students since they receive admission preference for available slots.

All winners and wait-listed applicants will be notified via email immediately following the lottery to the email address provided to MCSCS at the time of application.

Applicants who are not selected to enroll through the lottery will be automatically placed on the waiting list in the order determined by the lottery.

Lottery winners will receive an invitation via email indicating the specific paperwork necessary to complete the registration process. The parent or the legal guardian is required to come to the school and complete the registration process in person during the enrollment period (Monday, March 11 – Friday, March 29, 2024).
