BELL SCHEDULE
The school day will be from 7:50 am- 3:20 pm for a total of 7 hours and 30 minutes to allow for adequate instructional time plus time for enrichment and intervention services. Bus drop off will begin at 7:30 am to allow students the opportunity to be served breakfast before the school day starts. This structure also allows for a built-in enrichment/remediation period during 5th period from 12:22-12:42pm. During this time, students will be assigned to intervention services, tutoring, clubs, activities, or homework time. This embedded activity period allows all students to receive tutoring services and participate in activities without the restriction of transportation. The school buses will run after the built-in activity periods. Increased exposure to STEM curriculum and an embedded activity period will help the school achieve its mission-oriented goals, and therefore fully accomplish its mission.
MCSCS students will engage in hands-on learning throughout the school day. The model allows time for Language Arts and math centers in addition to the workshop style curriculum for each. There is also an emphasis on math on science instruction that reaches beyond the typical public school structures, ensuring that students are exposed to STEM concepts and content across all curriculum subject areas.
