Dear Viewer,
Middlesex County STEM Charter School is proud to represent our online curriculum maps that show the dedicated efforts of our teachers and administrators to align, develop and refine our curriculums for the benefit of our students.
A good curriculum is fluid and responsive to the needs of the students. At MCSCS, our curriculum is a dynamic document. It is continually evaluated and refined by teachers working with the administration and each other to ensure that our students are challenged at appropriate academic and developmental levels. Teachers update their maps on every unit, allowing the reader to track the direction of the class and the progression of skills throughout the year.
Our curriculums are broad outlines of what students need to know and be able to do each year. Maps are collaboratively created by our teachers, who spend many hours reaching consensus about the curriculum that is essential for our students. As a result, the content of our maps includes and often exceeds state standards.
I encourage you to visit the school website, so you can familiarize yourself with the curriculums and academic expectations we have for the students.
Please speak to your child's teacher with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Dr. Namik Sercan, Lead Person Middlesex County STEM Charter School
